If Not Now, When?

This is a series in which I played around with text manipulation with a scanner bed, as well as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I chose “If Not Now, When?” as my quote, as a reference to my indecisiveness in career paths and overall personal passion. I originally intended to have them as black and white prints, however I wanted to push it further so that it felt like you could “hear” the text. I wanted to create a piece that “sounded” like it would echo, almost like an uncomfortable feeling. I duplicated one of the pieces as blue and red transparent variants to create a “3D glasses” inspired background.

Lowell Travel Poster

This poster was inspired by vintage travel posters, using a limited color palette as well as simplified structures. Each structure within this poster is a landmark of some kind throughout the city, this includes the Lowell Mills, the Lowell Sun building, and City Hall. In the background is the skyline of the other side of town, which is divided by the Merrimack River.

The Forest Poster

This poster is based off of the PC game “The Forest”. The game is about surviving an airplane crash that leaves the main character stranded on an island full of cannibal monsters. I created this piece in Adobe Photoshop, using screenshots from the actual game itself, such as where a player may land and set up camp. I also included a silhouette of a monster faintly in the background, as they show up without warning within the game. The text is manipulated to look as if it were formed by the smoke from the fire, and the smoke within the game is one of the major factors that lures the monsters to the player.
